Many of us wait to feel certain before we move. We want to see the whole path, every turn and every outcome, before we take the first step. Yet clarity rarely arrives like that.
On a misty morning in the hills you cannot see the summit. You can see the ground in front of you, and perhaps the next few steps. As you walk, the mist begins to lift, a little at a time, and the shape of the land appears.
Change often works the same way. A new job, a loss, a decision about where life goes next. We can spend a lot of energy trying to see the whole picture, and feel stuck when we can't.
Sometimes the more helpful question is a smaller one. What is the next step? Not the perfect step, or the final one. Just the one in front of you.
Taking that step doesn't make the uncertainty disappear. It means we are moving with it rather than waiting for it to pass. Often it is only by moving that the view begins to clear.
Clarity, for me, isn't about having every answer. It is about understanding where you are, so the next step feels a little steadier.
